Dear Marco,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your excellent work in establishing the Montclair Business Improvement District. This is the fourth BID formed in Oakland and as you know, Montclair is one of the most charming and unique business districts in the city. One of our main goals was to create an opportunity for the merchants to maintain and improve upon Montclair's distinct "village" feel, and I think the BID will be successful in achieving that.

Throughout the BID formation process, I appreciated the way in which you and the leadership of the Montclair Business Association were able to effectively communicate the purposes of the BID. The overwhelming support demonstrated in the mail ballot and public hearing processes was a testament to your hard work, and showed why this effort is one which I am proud to have taken part.

I wish you the best of luck in your efforts to establish other Business Improvement Districts in Oakland, the Bay area and the rest of the state. Please don't hesitate to call me should you need a reference. The Montclair BID was a job well done and I look forward to the benefits it will bring the Montclair community.
